School of People, Environment and Planning (Massey University)

The School of People, Environment and Planning offers a range of undergraduate degrees (BA and BSc) and majors (Geography, Social Anthropology, Environmental Studies) are offered reflecting the broad range of expertise in the School. In addition there are the professionally accredited Bachelor of Resource and Environmental Planning (BRP) and Master of Resource and Environmental Planning (MRP) degrees. An interdisciplinary Environmental Studies programme is also based within the School.

Centre for Energy Research (Massey University)

Renewable energy supplies, efficient and wise use of energy and energy management are now widely recognised to mitigate for greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels, to reduce the annual costs of energy for a business or government department, and to provide sustainable energy solutions for people who want good health, comfort, entertainment, mobility and to maintain or enhance their present lifestyles.

Impacts of Climate Change on River Flows and Floods

This project will demonstrate how to use the latest global climate forecasts to predict changes in river flows in New Zealand, including changes in size or frequency of future floods.

Solar Research

IRL has specialist expertise and research that focuses on the discovery of new materials, known as quantum dots, for energy conversion. IRL is developing novel technology that will lead to the next generation of photovoltaic cells.
